In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, palm-tree leaves are agricultural by-products and could be utilized in the production of these enzymes. Trichoderma viride produced greater amounts of cellulases when grown on palm-tree leaves than when grown on an equivalent concentration of filter-paper cellulose.
