Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the seal of his prophets and messengers. This paper is a doctrine study (analysis and critique) which addresses the Greek mythology and its impact on muslims communities. The research consists of an introduction, three chapters, conclusion, and index. The first chapter presents the definition, origins, types and Characteristics of the mythology, and reveals the causes of the spread and Continuation of mythology and its functions in four parts. The second chapter focuses on the dogmatic conception in the Greek mythology: The concept of divinity in mythology, the conception of Angels, Jinn, magic, astrology, divination, spirits, death, afterlife in mythology. The third chapter of this paper reveals the methods of spreading mythology in the current era and in the Islamic communities. It demonstrates the effects of spreading mythology on doctrines and dogmas, and presents the methods of confrontation the effects. Finally comes the conclusion which sums up the research results. This research took a descriptive critical analytical approach. One of the most important result of this study is revealing that mythology is residu of beliefs of ancient times, And the most important causes of the spread of mythology is the similarity of human nature in imagination and memory, and the human mobility. The study also reveals the causes of continuation of mythology in the present era. And it demonstrates that greek civilization originated after east civilization, and continued throughout its history influenced by neighboring civilizations. moreover, greek thought moved from the legendary phase (Almithus) to more rational stage (Logos). The study also reveals the reasons behind the care of researches on greek mythology, such as early Recorded, mingled with literature and in intellectual and artistic life, And spread in Islamic communities in various ways: such as translation, dubbing movies, and the use of mythological characters as symbols. Moreover, the greek philosophy is one of the biggest effects of greek mythology. Finally, the study exposes the methods of confrontation the effects of mythology, such as adjust of story telling, preoccupation with knowledge and true stories, and beware of the mythical style of thinking. |
