Abstract : It is well known that marine transportation plays an important role on the economic and commercial aspects compared to other transportation means. In addition, most of countries overlooking the sea use this type of transportation in their economic development as well as the merit of transportation means "ship" in terms of capacity. However, this does not exclude the huge hazards related to marine transportation. As the marine field is risky due to its exceptional conditions compared to other transportation means, I decided to shed light on the liability in marine transportation contract especially the goods transporter being one of the most complicated issues in marine transportation. I started with asking a critical question "What is the liability of marine transporter in Saudi law?" arisen according to the marine transportation contracted entered between the shipper and transporter besides determining such liability accurately. So, this research tackled several basic issues such as the liability of marine transporter, exempting marine transporter from liability, determining the liability of marine transporter for goods in separated chapters.
