Oil privileges contracts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia went through several stages, which were improving over time. The discovery of oil led to a huge economic, social, and political change, and its effects are still existed today. The importance and objectives of the research are highlighted the historical roots of oil discovery in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its important events, for a stage that had a historical change for the countries of the region particularly and the world in general, during a period that had critical economic and international conditions.
The research will depend on the historical method based on the available primary sources,
The time period of research begins from the first serious attempts to explore for oil in the Arabian Peninsula in 1923 AD (1341 AH), through the first concession contracts, until the parity agreements at the end of 1950 AD (1369 AH). The study is limited to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The results of the research concluded that the Kingdom was able to obtain the possible benefits from its natural resources, which contributed to its renaissance.
One of the most important recommendations of the research is the necessity of documenting the history of oil in the Kingdom based on primary sources, in addition to writing oral history, which will contribute to the issuance of many historical studies. |
