Abstract : This study aim to determines the reality of using the Arabic language in the Saudi labor market, and the types of obstacles faced by female graduates from programs taught in English when they are employed in sectors that require dealing with the Arabic language, and their causes, and provide some solutions that may contribute to overcoming these obstacles and serve the appropriate language planning for the Arabic language in Kingdom Saudi Arabia. The study was conducted on a sample of (102) female graduates and trainees from the programs taught in English at the University of Business and Technology in Jeddah (female section), through a questionnaire linking the independent variables represented in (nationality, university major, field of work (nature of the job) and sector of work). Work, pre-university education, and the percentage of language use in the field of work), with the types of linguistic and non-linguistic obstacles related to language in the use of the Arabic language in the functional field, their causes, drawing conclusions, and providing recommendations and proposed solutions according to the results. In this study, Highest survey results were recorded for Saudi national variable, highest number of participants are majored in Human Resources, in addition the business sector specifically in investment and finance companies recorded highest results among other sectors in the study. Also, private sector is higher than government sector. This study also highlighted that highest percentage of participants studied pre-university education in private schools out of public schools and international schools. Their assessment of the extent of knowledge of the Arabic language before university education, and after the university education with a weak score scored the highest percentage. The highest percentages were also achieved for the variable of the percentage of dealing verbally in Arabic at work by approximately 50% and dealing in writing in Arabic at work was less than 50%. Overall, the study reveals types of obstacles in dealing with the Arabic language in the Saudi labor market such as: weak linguistic skills of the employee, the effect of foreign non-Arabic speaking labor, and the lack of supervision and censorship in the Saudi labor market despite already having decisions that makes dealing in Arabic a legally binding law in a workplace. the study also highlighted the reasons behind these obstacles, and the differences in the levels of awareness among working individuals and institutions towards dealing with the Arabic language in official domains, in addition presented some solutions and recommendations with a goal to success in generalizing dealing with Arabic and contributing to direct language planning in general, and in the educational institution under study in particular, also it can be circulated to other educational institutions that follow similar plans in the provision and presentation of university courses.
