This thesis is submitted for obtaining a Ph. D degree from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Department of Shariah and Islamic Studies, major: Kitab and Sunnah. It is titled (Deduction of Imam Al-Cazroni (932H.) in his Exegesis ‘Al-Seratt Al-Mustaqeem fi Tebian Al-Qurān Al-Kareem’ (The Straight Path in Explaining the Noble Qurān): A theoretical applied study, from the beginning of Sūrah (Chapter) Al-Baqarah (The Cow) to the end of Sūrah Al-Anfāl (The spoils of war). This research aims to define ‘deduction’, stating its topics, and studying its applications according to Imam Al-Cazroni, where I followed the inductive-deductive method through compilation, description, analysis and comparison. I divided this thesis into: An introduction, preface, two sections, conclusion and indexes.
As for the Introduction, it includes the significance of the topic, reasons for its choice, its objectives, limits, previous literature, adopted method and plan.
The Preface addresses the concept of deduction, interpretation and the relationship between them. Then comes Section One, which consists of three chapters. Chapter One introduces Imam Al-Cazroni and his exegesis. Chapter Two deals with Al-Cazroni's methods of deduction. Chapter Three is about themes of deduction according to Imam Al-Cazroni in his book. As for Section Two, it addresses deduction in the Noble Qurān as applied in his exegesis. It includes an applied study from the beginning of Sūrah Al-Baqarah to the end of Sūrah Al-Anfāl. Then comes the Conclusion, which comprises key results, among which are: The scientific value of Al-Cazroni's exegesis as it gathers many meanings, and a summary of the commentators' statements, among which are: The multiple topics of deduction according to Imam Al-Cazroni in his exegesis, which combines creed, linguistic and jurisprudential deductions and the like that give the book a great interpretational value.
Moreover, the Recommendations include: To give attention to verifying Al-Cazroni's heritage. Through his exegesis, it appears that he is a verifier scholar. Two scientific theses were recorded on fundamentalist rules, educational and behavioural gestures in the exegesis of Imam Cazroni in his exegesis book (Al-Seratt Al-Mustaqeem fi Tebian Al-Qurān Al-Kareem).
